Maserati Ghibli flagship sedan with the hybrid power plant was announced. The new model was supposed to be shown in 2020 at the Beijing Auto Show, but the exhibition was postponed due to the coronavirus. Nevertheless the debut of the first Maserati hybrid is still to be expected this year.
Note the fact that the sedan with the same name will be a revolutionary model for the sports Italian brand, which had previously stubbornly specialized only in powerful cars with internal combustion engines.
In addition to the hybrid component, the new model will get an expanded list of equipment – in particular, there will be a new media complex and a fully digital instrument display.
The manufacturer will also offer a wider choice of finishing materials. And it’s about time, because the Ghibli debuted back in 2013 and has never been updated.
Now the company Maserati is working hard on the electrification of its models – apparently, to cope with the more stringent environmental standards in Europe. In this regard, in addition to the Ghibli, the hybrid technology will go to the Levante crossover, as well as the successors of Granturismo and Grancabrio models.
