A US Presidential Election Survey…for Immigrants and Visa-Holders

This is a poll designed for those of us who are here legally, but who cannot influence the outcome of this election which will affect us so profoundly. Tell us here at Newest Industry what scares you the most.

As a foreign national legally living and working in the US, what Presidential Election result would motivate to run, not walk, to your home country?

President Bush secures the country for his protection

February 7th, 2006 by smp | Comments | Filed in RANTING

It should come as no surprise that I am a fan of “graphic novels”, known as “comic books” when I was coming of age. One of my favourites is the Dark Knight | Dark Knight Returns series.

In the Dark Knight Returns, the US is run by a cabal with a holographic presidential avatar as their figurehead. In this world, the “Freedom FROM Information Act … makes anything worth knowing secret”.

That quote has stuck with me for most of the last week. The American population is supposed to hang its head and march quietly in line with everyone else, never looking to the side because they might accidentally see their freedoms dying in the ditches.

The United States is Rome, and the babarians (no, not the elephant king, barbarians you fool!) are on the far banks of the Rubicon, with their feet in the water.

Bush bought Florida in 2004

September 22nd, 2005 by smp | Comments | Filed in smp

This story should come as no surprise to anyone.

Michael Brown, the embattled head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency, approved payments in excess of $31 million in taxpayer money to thousands of Florida residents who were unaffected by Hurricane Frances and three other hurricanes last year in an effort to help President Bush win a majority of votes in that state during his reelection campaign, according to published reports.

Katrina — Stupid, Rich White People Run Your Country

September 11th, 2005 by smp | Comments | Filed in smp

Don’t you love this country?

Bush lifts wage rules for Katrina

President Bush issued an executive order Thursday allowing federal contractors rebuilding in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina to pay below the prevailing wage.

Oh, and in the arrogant, rich, white people category, the award goes to Jefferson Parish near New Orleans. It seems that the righteous folks there have decided to re-water parts of New Orleans so that their area can get up and running faster. [here]

Remind me again why the United States continues to think that they are the moral leaders of the world community.

Rove and Bush: Staging Photo-Ops, Disposing With Lives

September 5th, 2005 by smp | Comments | Filed in smp

This is enough. Do something.

Read this. Then come back to this forum and tell me how you can support this man.

He and his cronies claim to support the little people. So far, the poor and desperate have suffered the indignity of having their humanity stripped from them by their own government.

Yesterday, we saw a car from Louisiana pass us on the 495. Samantha and I both thought poor buggers. Yet now, I realize that they were driving a very expensive minivan. They weren’t suffering. And they were likely staying in hotels.

The United States should be ashamed of their President, their government, and what they have down to their own people.

What will you do to bring humanity back to the United States.

Dear Karl Rove: Shut Up, and Go To Kansas

September 5th, 2005 by smp | Comments | Filed in smp

<RANT>

George Bush is lame, and a lame duck.

He is a stooge, only in place to ensure that the right-wing packs the Supreme Court for a generation (Think Pelican Brief).

Now, after playing politics with 9/11, Karl Rove is playing politics with Katrina.

WHY?

What does playing politics mean? How many lives does it save?

FEMA failed. DHS failed. Santorum wants to gut NOAA so it can fail during the next crisis.

Karl Rove committed treason. George Bush committed stupidity. Brown and Chertoff were shown to be useless in the face of a disaster.

SHUT UP
.

Unless you are going to New Orleans to DO something, stay home. Stay off the TV. Stay out of the media.

The White House has NOTHING to add to the conversation. It has added nothing to the effort to save these people.

The president of the oil companies and conservative religious fanatics failed the United States. And Karl Rove is trying to make the chimp look good.

Karl, you have failed. You are the most reviled man in America. I think that Karl Rove should be made to clean the Superdome. By hand. Alone.

The Presidency: What? The Press is allowed to record my statements?

July 19th, 2005 by smp | Comments | Filed in RANTING

Oh, lookee here. GW Shrub appears to be backtracking. Now Karl has to be convicted before he gets fired.

Mr. President, if he’s convicted, you are most likely going to be down in Crawford, TX having an extended vacation. And the Acting President will most likely be Mr. Hastert. [Presidential Order of Succession]

Hey, I hear San Diego is looking for a new mayor! [here]

Karl: Did W ask if you stole from the cookie jar?

July 13th, 2005 by smp | Comments | Filed in RANTING

Hey Karl, can you spin this?

If you are the CEO and your underling might have committed a serious crime… would you ask them? Either Rove told Bush the truth and Bush doesn’t care, Rove lied to the President and the President can forgive him, or the President doesn’t care and hasn’t asked. None of those reveal good qualities in our Commander in Chief. This is going to burn him one way or another in the end.

Love it!

Karl: The Boys at Leavenworth are going to like you!

July 11th, 2005 by smp | Comments | Filed in RANTING

Karl:

I hear you’ve done a lot of good work for the Bush Cabal over the last eight years. I mean, you turned John McCain’s name to mud, you got the weasel…errr, President re-elected, you’ve controlled the media more effectively than Ron Ziegler.

However, when the White House decided to turn on Joseph Wilson, you volunteered to take point. Sure, you didn’t name Valerie Plame by name, but saying that the wife of Ambassador Joseph Wilson was a CIA analyst kind of made any reporter’s job a little easier.

Now, from what I have read, this is a Federal Offence. Not the kind that Martha Stewart went to Club Fed for, but one that gets your butt sent to a nice Maximum Security Prison for say…oh, 10 years.

Now, after 4.5 years of shrill, emotional baiting, negative economic growth, two wars that are descending below the surface of quagmire, and a nation reeling into the 21st Century as the only Western Theocracy, it might be time to re-evaluate how History (with a capital ‘H’) will remember you and the rest of the Cabal.

Frankly, Karl, I revel in the prospect that you did this. And I hope that you roll over and say that Cheney asked you to do it.

And you know what?

You just got John McCain elected president in 2008.

Bet the irony is just killing you right now.

It’s the suede denim secret police…

June 23rd, 2005 by smp | Comments | Filed in RANTING

Followed a link trail to this post. Read the whole article here.

Ok folks. Your time has come. You may be incarcerated without your consent in the future by your government (not my government, your government) because they “suspect” you are mentally ill.

So, what are you going to do about it?
