Yesterday, I read Anne Zelenka’s post on ROWE at Best Buy. I was heartened to see that this idea was getting mentioned again, and that it was getting front-page interest from Big Media.
On a lark, I forwarded the post to my director and VP. Their responses frightened me. They were written in management-ese, and indicated [...]

As many of you know, I inherited an old, very well-used T-Mobile Treo 600 a couple of weeks ago. Well, I have become acutely aware of people who have them, much like suddenly noticing pregnant women when your wife is pregnant.
Today, I am on-site at a large client in the Philadelphia area, and the office [...]

So today, I re-instated blogging on my own hardware and also migrated my b2evolution articles to Wordpress 2.0.
It was painless.
Five-minute Wordpress install.
Run the b2evolution -> Wordpress import script. [here]
Ummm…that’s it.
I will be tweaking the theme over the next few days until I feel it is more me.
Guess I’m just like Ben Metcalfe.

Anyone have good recommendations for a b2evolution hosting service that will allow me to import my existing database?

Ubuntu, oh how I wish I understood you!
My understanding of why people prefer Windows and OSX is cemented. Evolution keeps crashing, and the wireless card, which worked perfectly at the office, can’t see my WRT54G.

I don’t have time to play; [...]

Ok, this is the first post from the new Ubuntu-powered work laptop. I partitioned the drive and installed the OS and the only hiccups have been with Evolution, which I think I have beaten into the ground.
Even the ndiswrapper hack worked perfectly for my wireless card. Nice! This has come a long way since the [...]

Blacklisted: Blogspot.com

17 Oct 2005

I have permanently blacklisted all of people making comments from blogspot.com — it appears that Google’s little nightmare is getting worse.
Thankfully b2evolution makes that easy. I hate to think about what the the other blogging platforms will have to go through to make this happen.
PS: This is in response to Chris Pirillo’s well-timed rant on [...]

I upgraded b2evolution yesterday to 0.9.1, which the developers claim had substantial performance improvements.
I believe them.

Kudos to the b2evolution team!

Ok, the site is now running b2evolution 0.9.1 — took some swearing and a weird hack to get it to work, but we’re back!
If you see any weirdness, let me know.

CNN has a retrospective of Web 1.0 failures. [here]
These all bring back painful memories.
