For history fiends, enthusiasts of lost treasures, and lovers of a good mystery, the discovery of the Archimedes Palimpsest has been one of those stories that must be followed.
The texts contained in the Palimpsest were lost to humanity for hundreds of years as a result of a common Medieval European tradition — the re-use of [...]

For those who capture the minutiae of their lives in a Moleskine or Rite in the Rain, I present the example to which we should all bow.
The Domesday Book is online.

To quote the site:
“Domesday is our most famous and earliest surviving public record. It is a highly detailed survey and valuation of all the land [...]

Wandered into the neighbourhood Staples today for an office-supply fix — didn’t buy anything, just like the smell of paper and ink.
Down the pen aisle, I found a Fisher Space Pen.
For $15.99.
This is about $15 cheaper than anywhere else I have seen.
Now, when they start selling Moleskines or Rite in the Rain, I will be [...]

Stefan of the Help me become a switcher blog has raised nearly $1000 toward getting himself a Powerbook.
Obviously I am just not motivated enough, cause I have been begging for donations to get one for over a year; so far I can afford a new Apple sticker for my Moleskine.
Stefan, I applaud your gumption…and success!

Merlin at 43Folders links to a great post by Robert Daeley. [here]
This post is extremely relevant to me, as I just spent 9 hours lugging my laptop backpack (still waiting for my Waterfield Cargo bag to arrive from a dedicated reader — Large please) around SeaTac, Denver International and Logan.
It would have been even worse [...]

A pen I found

In: GTD| Notebook Lust

At my last job, I moved desks a lot. Not because I was being shuffled from department to department, but because the company was in a constant state of flux, expanding with the Internet Bubble 1.0, and then collapsing on itself.
I often found interesting things when I took up residence at my new desk. Once, [...]

I tried. I really did. I tried to use the Moleskine Planner as a supplement to my daily Outlook calendar, but it didn’t work out. It’s too heavy, too bulky. I think that one of the spiral bound planners might work better for me; I will try that next year.
It is a beautiful book. I [...]

Ok, I caved. Purple Metallic and Black Matte.
I am slave to fashion.
Damn they feel good on Moleskine paper.
Damn you Merlin.
Ok, you’re not the only one…but you can take it…and it’s hard to tag Joi Ito with the blame — he moves around too much!
Maybe I should blame Parmet again…nah! He turned me onto the G2s.
Hey! [...]
